How Marketers, Community Managers & Graphic Designers Collaborate ?
The trio, marketing strategists, community managers and graphic designers, how do these three work together to achieve business goals and build the brand awareness ?
That’s what today’s article talks about, an overview about your role as a graphic designer, what to expect from the other trio members, and how you all work together .
In most of businesses, we have the marketing and design department separated , both having different task and work to do, but when we start a new project, work on a campaign or plan to organize an event, they bring the teams together to ensure co-creation, new ideas and problem-solving on both sides of the same coin.
So, What do Marketers do?
Marketers role is to create and maintain relationships between the company and its customers, they usually make sure they are telling the right business story and raising brand awareness through all business media.
They meet with clients, learn about their business and their goals, look at what they are currently doing online and learn about what they would like to be doing (getting more leads, more sales, build brand, etc…).
They also work with content creators on social media posts, scripts, product descriptions, and tracking the interactions.
So at which stage, should they involve designers?
We need to involve designers at every stage because creative marketing projects that aren’t informed by design strategy, or design thinking, are more likely to miss the mark.
- Marketers understand the target customer, and how to reach them, inside out.
- Designers understand how to design for a specific goal or outcome specified by the marketing team, and bring a vision to life.
- We end up with a strategy and an output that is: realistic, strategic and on point.
Also, Marketers learn about different design concepts when they get involved with the design team. It gives them an idea about the challenges faced by the design department. They can get a better understanding of creative aspects.
Designers on the other hand, get a deeper insight into the products, services, and customers. They understand better customer preferences, their likes and dislikes, and seasonal choices.
What do Graphic Designers do?
After establishing the initial meetings concerning a project, and agreeing on the goals, graphic designers step in to translate ideas and concepts into visually compelling designs. They make sure to respect the brand’s tone of voice, audience style and preference , and work along with other departments to make sure their designs satisfy the needs .
What do Community Managers do?
Community managers play an important role in engaging with the brand’s online community and build a good relationship with the audience. They are the online cheerleaders for a brand. They talk to followers on social media, answer questions, keep track of insights, make reports on engagement and keep things interesting.
They also listen closely to what people are saying online to understand what people like and don’t like. This helps the marketing team create better ideas and campaigns.
Marketers provide the roadmap, community managers keep the audience engaged, and graphic designers bring everything to life visually. The result? A brand that connects with its audience, achieves its goals, and stands out from the crowd.
